How To Run An Online Business With Nothing But A Mobile Phone
Are you thinking about starting an online business?
Do you feel you’re limited because you don’t have reliable access to a laptop or a desktop computer?
Or do you find yourself frequently away from a computer due to travel, work, or school commitments?
Final question – do you own a smartphone?
If the answer to these questions is yes, then you’ve got all you need to earn money online.
Let me explain.
It Used to Be That You Needed a Computer to Build a Website
It used to be that you had to sit at a computer in order to build a website.
The only way to get a site up and running and maintain it properly was on a desktop or laptop.
You used to have to install software like Dreamweaver to build a nice site.
Or, at a minimum you’d need to hand-code your website in HTML in a text editor and then upload the code to your site.
This all changed with the next big development in cloud-based software that let you build a website from anywhere with a laptop and an internet connection.
WordPress is the most well-known of these.
Mobile apps have now made it even easier.
Mobile Apps Let You Run an Online Business From Your Pocket
Apps now make it easy to create and maintain a website anywhere you can get a data connection on your mobile device.
This screenshot from my phone shows the main apps I’m currently using to run my online businesses.
Smart Recorder is a simple voice recording app.
But this simple app, coupled with a lapel microphone that cost less than $12, is a mobile studio to record podcasts while driving to work.
Canva is a powerful app that lets you make premium-looking graphics for your site.
Spreaker Studio is another podcasting app I’m going to test.
WordPress is what almost 19% of the world’s websites run on and the mobile version lets you do just about everything the full site does.
Instagram is for marketing and networking with influencers.
Hootsuite lets you manage multiple social media accounts.
Podbean is yet another podcasting app I’m testing.
Shopify is one of the top tools for running a dropshipping store and the mobile version does just about everything that the full site does.
Outlook lets you manage multiple email accounts in one place.
Run a Dropshipping Business From Your Cell Phone
You can even run a dropshipping business with nothing but your cell phone.
All you need is the Shopify app.
By the way, Shopify offers a 14 day free trial to help you get started.
You’ll need Instagram, too, if you’re going to promote your store through Instagram influencers.
If you want to get really fancy you can use Canva to edit your images and add captions to them.
Last week I was on an outing to a museum and had a couple of minutes to kill.
I was playing around with the apps and I used Canva to make the following graphic from a photo I’d taken just a few minutes before.
Aside from the generic sales headline, this is good enough to use for any site.
An Example of Changing Your Limiting Beliefs
If you think you can’t be successful in an online business because you don’t have regular access to a laptop or a computer, you’re right.
If you think you can’t be successful in online business because you’re too frequently away from a laptop or computer, you’re right.
If you think you can’t be successful because you’re too busy with work, school, or family commitments, you’re right.
If you think you can be successful in online business because there is always a way, you are also right.
Your attitude and mindset are the only difference between where you are right now, at this moment, and where you want to be.
Using mobile apps to run a successful online business anywhere in the world, from your pocket, is just an example of this.
Mobile apps for WordPress and Shopify let you run a website, blog, or dropshipping business from anywhere.
You can manage all your communications with Outlook and Hootsuite mobile apps.
Canva lets you design high-quality graphics for use in advertising and Instagram puts you in touch with people to promote your products.
You have everything you need to be successful in online business in the palm of your hand – quite literally.
I want to credit Robert from 30 Days to X for this article from a couple of years ago which got me into the mindset of running a successful website with nothing but a mobile phone.
